Building affordable homes – the Concretex way The photographs on this page show the step by step construction of new homes at our current development in Scottsdene, in the suburb of Kraaifontein, Cape Town. From the pictures you can get an idea of the construction and build quality. But to get an idea of what they are like to live in, you have to see for yourself. Pick a hot day – and you’ll immediately feel the benefit of the thermal insulation inside the wall panels. The houses are remarkably cool on the hottest day – meaning of course that in winter they’re very cosy. Remember that the same insulation in the walls that holds the heat out in summer, holds the heat in from any interior heating in winter! All the homes are 55m2, two bedroom starter homes, and are priced at R220, 000 inclusive. That’s right, R220, 000 inclusive! This price includes: • Land and Stand costs • VAT • Plans • Scrutiny fees • Rates clearance certificate • Transfer Costs • Bond Registration Costs • Electrical Connection Fee • NHBRC Registration fee Compare these homes, size for size, and quality for quality, with anything currently on offer. Bonds are available from ABSA, Standard and FNB. But our high value, low cost price, in no way implies reduced quality. Concretex homes are fully compliant with NHBRC regulations, and covered by NHBRC building warranties. Design features in all units include quality plastered and painted exterior and interior walls, Concretex pre-cast window frames and aluminium window sashes, and easy to clean vinyl kitchen and bathroom floors. The rest of the house is fully carpeted. In terms of electrics; light points with bayonet fittings are ready in each room, plug points ready installed in each room, with a connection for the hot-water cylinder, and an external light to the front. And plumbing finishes include an acrylic bath, hand basin, kitchen stainless steel sink with two taps (with cupboard), and a 100 litre hot water cylinder and tray.
